My snowplow burial story was featured in this book. Kathy Vick was also gracious enough to use my surrender fear story as part of her Run Like a Girl website launch.

Listening to My Master's Voice

I'm 300 miles from home and received a call earlier tonight that one of our dogs is missing. Turns out she was desperate enough to find us that she made a way out of a gate that under normal circumstances, she could not fit through.

i can't get back until Sunday.

I've cried and felt so guilty but finally realized the best thing to do was pray.

i felt the Lord share "Bonita" is just looking for her Master and will return when she hears her Master's voice. He said it's all going to work out, I… Continue

The Heat is On, the Vise Handle is Turning...

I'm a visual person. I need pictures to understand a message and to convey one. The visual I have going on lately is my heart and head being placed in a vise, and the handle is turning. It's a slow turn but things are getting tight and junk is oozing out. It hurts, it's not fun, but it's a good thing. It's a God thing!

Another visual is like those campy shows from the 60's, like Batman. Our hero is bound in ropes slowly being lowered to the fire. The narrator has all the drama asking those impo… Continue

How do you juggle it all?

I'm a wife. Mom. Writer. Servant. Friend. Daughter. Sister. Advocate.

There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week.

The pile in our basement called our laundry tells me I'm behind, really behind!

The praise is that this month God really gave me clear direction about the future. This fall both kids will be in school full time. Whether it's a success in the world's eyes, I know I'm meant to pursue writing full time. Sounds great, right?

Yet I know the other titles in my life don't go away. Th… Continue

If any ladies are interested

On of the cyber hats I wear is columnist and group facilitator. My columns are over at Take Root and Write: Marriage: Striving for Oneness and Finding Freedom Through Surrender. The groups are at the social network, Christian Women Take Root by the same name.

Take Root has really sprung to life over at Twitter. Things have grown so fast that each Thursday night at 9pm, EST they have a carnival style chat open to all Christian women called Christian… Continue

Fessing' Up

I'm really glad to be here, but I have a confession.

The compliments regarding my page have nothing to do with me.

I realized around new year that I belonged to a few social network and my pages all looked kind of haphazard. So I took one of the networks, Praise Themes, and grabbed a CSS code that I thought would match my personality for each network. Here I chose a verse about words because that is what I do at The Cypress Times. At GodLinked I think I accidentally picked a man's theme, but i… Continue

Just as prayer is vital in the life of a Christian and we need to make it the backbone of The Cypress Times newspaper and our Social Network Community. Paul, in his first letter to the Thessalonians, urges them to pray without ceasing (1 Th 5:17). We encourage you, to not only join us in the Prayer Room and pray for The Cypress Times on a regular basis, but also to add your own prayer requests in the Cypress Times Prayer Room. If you would like your prayer need to remain confidential, please feel free to send a message to any of the administrators of the prayer room - Chrissy, Brenda or Lynne.

The years' end is always a time of self-evaluation for me and hope to other too. Most of the time I asked myself a question, have I accomplished what I set out to do this year? Did I meet my goals? At the same time the New Year also means looking ahead, setting goals for the months to come, raising funds to meet the needs of the children and the ministry. And what will I do to become a stronger Christian and to do an effective God's ministry? Moreover, how will I share my faith and minister to others? I must take a look at the path I am traveling and determine if it is the right one while thinking these thing in my mind Psalm 25:4 came to my mind and I concluded that instead of asking God to bless my goals and walk with me in the path I have set, I must take the path He offers. Then God will go with me all the way.
God bless you all and have a blessed day
