For without HIm we could do nothing....to die and dry up on the vine. Yea, I am attached and living on the sustenance which feeds my spirit from the vine.

Victorious Freedom 2

2 Corinthians 7:9-11
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, wh… Continue

Victorious Freedom

John 14:1-3
1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

This life we live to the glory and praise of our God is not in vain. There truly is a ransom for your soul and a reward for enduring all the bitter trials we must… Continue

Standing in the Gap

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Beloved, be prepared at all times. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Our enemy, the devil, is gaining more and more control in this present world. As more and more people become deceived and influenced by the hardships we all must endure our lives will seem more difficult. The paths we must take will appear to be riddled with… Continue

The Crown of Life

Job 32:8
But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.

Sometimes I get it right away. And sometimes it takes a while for things to sink in. When the Father brought this verse back to my remembrance a coupe of evenings ago I knew right away what He was telling me. I was concerned that I was losing it. After almost six years of writing “The Daily Devotional” I have been having more and more difficulty coming up with new topics and fresh manna f… Continue

Thank you, Mitch, for dropping by my page. Hubby and I hail from (I've always wanted to use that phrase in a sentence) Texas, though we can't claim it as our birth place. =( My folks moved to Austin from upstate New York when I was ten. His folks were in the Air Force and located in San Antonio from when he was ten or so. We met on a blind date, married and lived in Houston for ten years, then in Dallas, and then somehow ended up in Louisiana. God did that one, for it wasn't an area we ever thought to go! =)

Mitch you are not alone. I thought I would share this excerpt with you from my first book.

Thirteen years after the passing of my dad. My wife Joan and I were called to the State United Church of Christ Healing Committee. We were asked for prayers, prayed with people and attended workshops with the committee. At one workshop, during the time our son Kevin was in the military, Joan was having a problem letting him go. There were 13 of us present and we all prayed and laid hands on her and we could see the weight being lifted from her shoulders as she lifted our son up to the Lord as a baby.
I too had a problem. In our early years when we first returned to Vermont, Joan
and I were attending St Michael’s Catholic Church. I was working at the local
welfare department at the time and my director attended the same church. The
director and I did not get along very well and many people did not like her. My
Mom and Dad were visiting Joan and I one weekend and we attended church services
together. Leaving the service that Sunday I met my director, I said “Hello”
and turned away. I did not introduce my parents to this person. I saw a hurt in
my Fathers eyes that bothered me for years. I think I did not introduce them
because I did not like my director, not because I was embarrassed of my parents
or anything like that. Nevertheless, over the years, an incident like this can fester
and I am no exception. This problem had to be brought before the Lord. All
present decided that I needed prayer.

I was seated in a chair like Joan was and prayed on. I had all kinds of colors
come before me. I was suddenly aware of a beautiful green meadow with flowers.
I was sitting down and Jesus was kneeling on one knee holding my hand. He
looked away as we stood up together. I did not see anyone at first and then I saw
a hand waving, coming up over the knoll. I then noticed that it was my dad. He
was smiling and wearing a blue suit. I remember saying, “Its dad and he is wearing
a blue suit, I did not know he had a blue suit”. Then I remembered that he
was buried in a new blue suit. He took hold of my hands and told me that he
loved me and I told him that I loved him. I turned to Jesus and Jesus winked. I
turned to look at dad and he was smiling, he looked many years younger. I
turned to look at Jesus again and He had disappeared. I turned to look at Dad
again and he had disappeared. There was not a dry eye in the place as we prayed
and thanked God for this prayer time together.
