We're off tomorrow to stay (self catering) on a farm for a week, taking my eldest son and his son with us. I suspect all the clever photography in the world couldn't hide the mud and rain and cow droppings...................................... We di…

Debbie has used pattern #3 but there are other versions of cinquain. Originally Cinquain poems came from Adelaide Crapsy in 1911, who developed her own poetic system, which she called cinquain. These were short unrhymed poems consisting of twenty-t…

I have a number of favourites: Dylan Thomas for the majesty and creativity of words and rhyme. Michel Quoist because his work 'prayers of life' in the 1960's probably caused me to begin writing. The 'Liverpool poets' - Patten & McGough, their humour…

Very nice piece in moemory of an extraordinary man. Don't think I have any right or reason to reach 111 ! There are a couple of lines I'd work on: 'how you stooped down low' suggests a voluntary act whereas it was the burden of age that forced the s…

The Palace of Poets is a training fortress for TCT poets to share and to hone skills. It is also a group for poets who desire to be published in the Cypress Times as contributing authors.

Just another slant on the 'name' value. In some cultures if you know someones (things) name you have some form of control over them. Even Jesus alludes to this in his dealings with the demoniac. "plumbago auriculata" ................hmmm...........…

Had an MRI scan earlier this year which pinpointed a disc problem in my neck (not ideal for working with a computer screen)- did NOT like the experience. Its like being in a close fitting tin can with a crowd of hooligans banging on the outside of i…

To announce the rays of day

To announce the rays of day
aggravated birds
boggle the early quietness.
Dawn has come.
An evidence of hope
proclaiming harmony
over the inefficacy of night
to steal our rest.
Twilight whispers its charm
and weary dreams retire.

The challenge was to write a piece incorporating the following words:
Announce, aggravated, boggle, dawn, evidence, harmony, inefficacy, rest, twilight, weary.

NOVEMBER WE CELEBRATE THE 1st BIRTHDAY OF TCT SOCIAL NETWORK

November has been set aside to promote TCT Social Network as a whole. There's even an article in The Cypress Times to announce TCT Social Network's 1st Birthday

Start working through your friends email addresses and invite those who you feel would be blessed by joining TCT Social Network. Put a message in the invite comment box and make it a personal invitation. Don't forget to let your friends know that this Social Network is part of The CypressTimes - Christian. Conservative. Online. Daily News.

Send invites using the link in the row at the top of TCT Social Network pages, or use the "invite friends" link on the top right of the page in the group that you think your friends might enjoy.

Let's aim to build TCT Social Network to 300 plus by Christmas.

Hi Wordsculptor,

As the "official" birthday hostess for August, I want to wish you a happy birthday from the Cypress Times. As I can see, Chrissy beat me to it, and she left a wonderful graphic too! If you'd like, you can go and register your name on the birthday list so we can throw you a cyber party!!

Hugs,
Cheri

Oh, I say. I didn't mean to have you as the only male featured member for this coming week. It's just worked out that way.

I'll place your MEET THE CYPRESS TIMES CONTRIBUTING AUTHOR promotion in the Member Announcement forum later today. I'll then place it in The Cypress Times Book Reviews in the Authors and News subsection. However, I'll leave you charming face on on the main pages of the Readers Nook and ASK groups until I replace it sweet Amanda's sometime over the weekend.
