My name is Anne Mae Fraser. I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I have 3 adult children, 2 girls and a boy. I have three grandchildren also 2 girls and a boy. I am fortunate in that all my children live nearby. I see them and my beautiful grandchildren almost every day. I am a widow. My husband died 7 years ago. I worked as a social worker but I had to retire early owing to ill health. My hobbies include swimming and creative writing. I have recently started a course at Glasgow University in creative writing. I am enjoying this and I am also finding it to be a challenge.
I was brought up in the Christian faith. When my children were younger I was involved in setting up and running a childrens' club in the Church. This was a successful venture and I enjoyed running the club. My job as a social worker meant that I was able to work out my Christian beliefs by serving others. And also by coming into contact with those Jesus choose to be with during his time on earth. I try my best to walk with Jesus all the time. I give thanks for the love and support that I receive.
Like most people I have experienced tragedy in my life. I have always loved the poem "Footprints." I do believe that during the worst times in my life God has carried me through. As a result of this I have usually written down the tragic experiences and then show how God was with me all the time. I now feel that God is telling me that this is the time to share those experiences with others and I hope to do this via this site.
I have written short stories which have a Christian message. I have also written a story for children which is based on the agelong struggle of good and evil with good winning in the end. The message in the story is that we can find the strength to overcome our fears with help coming from unexpected sources. Another element in the story is that the treasures of life are not to be found in material possessions but in the beauty of nature and also in human qualities such as patience, kindness and thoughtfulness.
The "Book" that I have been trying to write, for about the last 10 years, relates to a time when my daughter was gravely ill in hospital. I tell the stroy about my own personal sufferings and how these sufferings enabled me to come to a different understanding about God and biblical interpretation. The book also covers Mary and her suffering, grace, loss, separation, Hymn writers, the Trinity and God's faithfulness.
